I am passionate about ethically and appropriately using digital technology to make a positive impact in the world. I’m currently running a consulting company called Impact’s Edge, which helps purpose-driven organizations, companies, and government agencies maximize their social impact, particularly through the use of digital technology.
I have extensive experience in the social impact and digital technology fields in more than 20 emerging/frontier markets, and have led numerous efforts driving positive impact in areas such as agriculture, financial inclusion, health, civil society/governance, workforce development and resilience.
Over the past decade, I have helped to bring in more than $30 million in funding for technology projects from USAID, the Rockefeller Foundation, the World Bank, ITU, BSR, Water.org and the Global Resilience Partnership. I’ve also managed multi-country initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia valued at more than $11 million.
I’ve authored numerous publications focused on helping practitioners to appropriately make use of technology for development. In addition, I have presented at dozens of international conferences, and have designed and facilitated hands-on workshops on low-cost video, mobile technologies, and other ICT tools for agriculture, resilience, health, education, and governance in the more than 10 countries in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. I have extensive international experience, including work in 20 countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, and travel to more than 75 countries on six continents.
